2023/2024 Kidding began 6 December 2023. We will be offering kids for sale sired by Bear Creek BC K1153 Seabiscuit; Bear Creek BC L1193 Main Man, Bear Creek BC L1201 Argo's Karma, Bear Creek BC M1220 Dream Chaser, Bear Creek BC M1230 Traveler and Bear Creek BC N1267 Lucas. IF you are looking for a new Herdsire, Breeding Doe, or a Kid to show, we welcome you to schedule a Farm Visit to check out our Genetics. We strive to offer Bucks that will add fast weight gain to your herd so that you can get your kids to market at weaning, 60 - 80 lbs. at 3 months old.
We have been a closed herd since 2008 with the exception of bringing in new herdsires in 2009; 2010; 2011; 2015, 2017 and 2020. We prefer the Traditional South African Boer Goat with the white body and Red Head
UPDATES:6 Aug 2022: Hey, just a tiny bit of braggin, you know what they say, even a blind squirrel gets a nut now and then. We took 4 goats to the Ozark Empire Fair in Springfield, MO that was held on 6 Aug 2022. Bear Creek BC M1217 Angel DOB 3/12/22 placed 1st in the 3-6 month class. Bear Creek L1189 Honeysuckle Rose placed 1st in the 6-9 month class and was the Overall Grand Champion Doe Bear Creek BC M1213 a Buck, placed 2nd in the 3-6 month class. Bear Creek BC M1198 a Buck, placed 1st in the 6-9 month class and was the Junior Rsv Champion I will post pictures soon on the Show Goats page.
17 September 2022: Another Show Brag, Bear Creek BC L1189 Honeysuckle Rose was reserve Overall Grand Doe at the West Point ABGA Shoot Out Show in Nevada, MO.
2 June 2023: Bear Creek BC M1243 was the Junior Doe Champion, THEN the Supreme Overall Champion of the Lawrence County Show in Missouri. Congratulations Payton!!!!! Picture has been placed on the Customers' Winnings Page.

Welcome to Bear Creek Farm Boer Goats, we are pleased you stopped by. We are located in Lebanon, MO, and offer Fullblood Boer Goats for sale in Missouri. We are within a few hours drive from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois.

Major attractions are located nearby, including, The Beautiful Lake of the Ozarks just 25 miles North on Hwy 5, Bennett Springs State Park, a gorgeous trout stream 12 miles North on Hwy 64 and of course Branson and Table Rock Lake are just 100 miles away, down I-44 to Springfield and then South on Hwy 65. So if you get a chance to come and visit, plan an extra couple of days for a mini vacation.
We have been involved with Goats for a very long time. Our first goat on the farm was purchased for her milk, way back in 1974, due to our son being allergic to cow's milk. Then in the early 90's, we purchased Brush, Spanish, Pygmy and Milk Goats to clear our 120 acres. In 1997, we obtained a percentage Boer Buck, and he definitely improved our herd of goats. In 2000 we traveled to Texas Labor Day Production Sales to include Norman Kohl's, Powell/Holman and Sunny Acres to buy the best South African Boer Goat breeding stock we could afford and thus began building our Fullblood Boer Goat Herd. We have continued to attend production sales and purchase Boer Goats from EGGS at Showstopper, Farmer's Stock Exchange, Silver Boer Goat Exchange, Paul Payne, Don Smith, 7A++ and more.

One of the most important additions to our herd was our 2003 - 2007 herd sire DSM Richard*Ennobled*, an Ennobled Starman and Wobbles son, whom we purchased from Don Smith. Richard has given us some awesome kids, one of his Boer goat Does placed 6th out of 94 and another placed 12th at the ABGA National Show in Louisville , KY in 2005. One of his bucks, Bear Creek BC T122 Mika, placed 6 th out of 117 in the 3 to 6 month old buck class at the 2006 ABGA Nationals held in Monroe , LA 12 - 17 June 2006. Richard's bucks continued to do well in the show ring, in 2007 BC V205 Yogi had 40 Points and BC W213 Joshua now has 99 and 10 unassigned points towards ennoblement. We have continued to add beautiful herd sires to our breeding program, check out our herd sire page.
We have a 100% Fullblood Boer Goat Herd, have put together the best genetics we could buy. Quality is our priority. We were participating in the BGIN Boer Goat Improvement Network program with ABGA American Boer Goat Association when it was active and are serious about developing a Boer Goat with exceptional rate of gain for the Commercial Meat Goat Producer. Goat 101 Financials: Hey, just going to share some thoughts for you to consider: You could purchase a CD for $5000.00 and hope you get 6% interest. That should give you at least $300.00 for the year. OR If you purchased 4 Does for $5000.00. Kid them out, you should get 8 kids. Lots of scenarios, BUT, we will be cheap and just figure you get 4 kids and sell them cheap for near sale barn prices of $500.00 each. Thus $2000.00. Livestock is gambling, but, odds are usually in your favor.

UPDATE 20 September 2022: I wrote the Commercial Goat Operation 101 in 2020, see below. Lots of changes have happened in the market, most of them good. I have not changed the numbers, but, you will get the idea. A good Buck will pay for himself!!! Commercial Goat Operation 101 Consider your Kids normally weigh 50 lbs. when 3 months old New Buck cost $1500.00 Your Kids from new Buck now weigh 60 lbs. when 3 months old Market price is $3.00 per lb. UPDATE 03/28/2021 GREAT NEWS: I wrote this in 2020, this year 2021 I first heard price of $4.10 THEN heard $6.00 a pound. WOW a great time to be raising goats. You sell 50 kids: you now have i.e. 50 kids X 10 lbs = 500 MORE lbs to sell @ $3.00 per lb. This equals $1500.00, so your Buck is paid for the first year . This is just stuff to think about, your kids could weigh even more and/or you may have to upgrade some of your Doe’s to get where you want to go. If fast weight gain is your goal, it is cheaper to feed a good goat than a bad one. PLUS even your labor should be cut in half if you are selling kids at 3 months instead of 6 months. One more thing, you may want to pull the top kids and offer them as show prospects to the 4-H and FFA kids and that could easily pay for new buck #2. There are NO guarantees when raising Livestock except that someday they will die. A lot depends on weather, management and so much more, it is a continued learning experience. .jpg) BC D826 Gator's Scarlett. Picture taken 27 July 2024. Scarlett was a twin, she has had 14 kids. She had 2 Doe kids in Dec 2022, 1241 was sold for $1500.00. I am keeping 1240. Scarlett placed 9th at the 2015 ABGA National Show. Her teat seems to have scar tissue, i.e. somtime a kid chewed. BUT, she fed both does with no problem.
She could make a great companion for a Buck and maybe mother nature will surprise us with one more successful kidding and just possibly the best is yet to come.
UPDATE 23 July 2024: Gator's Scarlett now sells as EXPOSED. She was put with Bear Creek BC N1304 Gentleman Jim on 10 July 2024.
UPDATE 14 November 2024: Scarlett is FREE, but, I would like her to go with 928. UNLESS you have a wonderful barn/pasture for her retirment home and could use a weed eater. We just need the pen space.

That was after she kidded on 12 December 2023. She produces good kids, her 2 Bucks 1197 and 1198 sold for $2500.00 EACH in 2022. We currently have kept 3 of her does, but, now offering 1254 and 1292. Her Dam 590 Cheetah was one of our Show Does and was also a big framed doe.
Cheetah's Pride has been exposed to Bear Creek BC N1304 Gentleman Jim from 10 July thru 31 July 2024. Gentleman Jim will be headed to Colorado sometime in August 2024.

She has a good bite, but her teat structure will not allow her to be a show goat in a ABGA Sanctioned Show. She is a meat wagon, weighed 125 lbs. (7 months old) on 19 July 2023 for a .54 average daily gain. If you want a production doe, check her out. Her Grandam Cheetah was one of our Show does and weighed over 200 lbs. Her Dam Cheetah's Pride weighed 210 lbs. on 5 February 2023. We do NOT believe you need a big doe to produce you kids that will get to 60 - 80 lbs. at 3 months old. BUT, if you like big does I believe this one will get there.
9/22/23 UPDATE: 1254 weighed 142 lbs. (9 months old) on 18 September 2023 for a .48 average daily gain.
12 Oct 23 UPDATE: 1254 was bred by Bear Creek BC N1267 Lucas today. We do not guarantee she is bred, only exposed, but, take her home and mark 11 March 2024 down on your calendar to expect some cute goat kids. I will share a crazy raising goats story: Seen her flagging around 11:30 PM on 11 Oct 23. Went to the quonset hut and brought back to the main barn Bear Creek BC M1220 Dream Chaser. She would have nothing to do with him, kept going back to Lucas. Sooo, I penned her next to Dream Chaser over night. Morning of 12 Oct let her out and of course she runs to Lucas. So, we put them together and seen action. So, she does have her preferences!!!!!!! Lucas Reg # is 10945537.
23 February 2024 UPDATE: We are pulling 1254 OFF of the For Sale List as she is to close to kidding. BUT, we have other does that kidded in December that will be weaning their kids in March. So, YES, due to needing to reduce our numbers we will be offering some of them.
25 June 2024 UPDATE: 1254 Gave us 3 beautiful doelings on 7 March 2024 with perfect teat structure. So, NOW, we are putting her back on the for sale list.
25 August 2024 UPDATE: 1254 has been exposed to our "New Guy" KMSL ROR1 Smoke Show Reg # 10951267 since 5 August 2024. We use marking harnesses and she was marked on 8/17 or a couple of days prior. We do not offer as bred only as exposed.

He goes back to our Joshua line thru his Sire Joshua's Reflection. Just an interesting note when his Dam Bear Creek BC Z465 Cathie's Clown was just a kid I wrote on her record, "walks wide". She stood out and of course complemented Joshua's Reflection to their creation of Harambe. We continue to be impressed with his kids!!
He placed 8th at the 2017 ABGA National Show in Grand Island, NE He currently has 46 ABGA Ennoblement Points. You can see more pictures on the Show Goats Page.

He weighed 48 lbs. on 14 February 2024 giving him a .62 average daily gain. His Dam 1029 Ms Merkle, produces great Bucks including Apache and Lucas that were sired by Seabiscuit. Ms Merkle can be seen on the Does For Sale Page. 1284 has a different sire, Dream Chaser, AND, is already looking GREAT!! UPDATE: Legend weighed 109 lbs. on 20 June 2024 giving him a .53 average daily gain.
UPDATE: 13 July 2024. We gave Legend 6 Does to breed on 10 July 2024 and he has 5 of them marked. He knows his job!!
UPDATE: 22 August 2024: Legend weighed 128 lbs. giving him a .47 average daily gain. NOT BAD, considering he was breeding does and NOT eating starting 10 July 2024.
