Bear Creek BC W213 Joshua is up front, then R A Mr. Texas Gunner and Bear Creek BC W260 Commanche, Yogi and Warrior are also in the Picture. Joshua had a great weekend in Harrison, AR on 17 and 18 May 2009, there were 3 shows. Kay Garrett and Chip Kemp made him the Overall Grand Champion Buck and Barry Watts made him Overall Reserve Grand Champion Buck.

UPDATE: Joshua's Reflection was sold 14 Apr 2016 and now resides in AZ. We have kept one of his sons and several daughters to continue his influence in our herd.

Argo is going to be one of our Herdsires!! We bred him to 1 Doe in 2014 and wow, love his 2 Buck Kids. Argo went to 2014 ABGA Nationals and placed 11th, although, they only officially place 10, we know we were next. Argo has continued to do well in the show ring, was Reserve Grand Overall Buck; Overall Grand Buck and Junior Reserve Grand at the 3 Shows in Jonesboro, AR in Nov 2014.

Thunder was a twin and "yes" his sister is in our keeper pen. She is just as massive as he is. Thunder has 1 teat on each side. He is one of our 4 Herd Sires that we are using for the 2015 breeding season. He weighed 282 lbs. on 16 June 2015. These pictures do not even begin to show his mass and he is a gentle giant!!!

Bear Creek Boers is excited to announce ADVBG Hatchet (10649117) as our newest Herd Sire for 2015. Been looking for this guy for a very long time. Found him in the Legendary Sale in Morehead, KY on 1 August 2015. Thank you to Aaron & Denise Crabtree for consigning this great Buck.

UPDATE: Very sad news for us and Hatchet. I had warning signs, but, went ahead and ran him up to $4750.00 and brought him home. Gave him 25 Doe's for 3 months and he got 4 bred. I then, on 27 Oct 2015 took him to DVM Volkman at the Missouri State University in Columbia, MO for a semen test and he had nothing, actually weird and scarey looking semen, detached heads and coiled tails. DVM Volkman also commented he had small testes. Thus, looks like he had a problem when he was sold PLUS after 90 days he had NOT recovered. He then died on 11/15/2016.

See one very concerning finding below taken from autopsy report:

12/3/15: The liver contain 408.3 ppm of copper. The reference range for
hepatic copper concentrations in goats is reported to be 25 to 150 ppm,
with toxicosis being reported at concentrations exceeding 230 ppm on a
wet-weight basis, with compatible clinical signs and histopathologic
findings (please see Toxicology section of this report for the detailed
comments of the toxicologist).

My comment:

Hatchet had been kept in a pen at the sellers ranch and "a doe was brought to him for breeding". Thus, I dismissed his lack of appetite and losing weight to being thrown out in the pasture with 25 Doe's.

After he marked our Doe's (we use marking harnesses) for the 3rd time was when I suspected there was a problem, but, it was too late for Hatchet.

I don't have my Vet's license, but:

I think excessive copper was the start of his demise. Thinking the stress of coming to a new home caused copper to be released from liver, he never ate grain good.

RIP Hatchet, you did NOT deserve the hell you went through.

Bear Creek BC A580 Smokin Hot Gator was a twin. He has 2 teats on the right and 2 teats on the left and a good bite. We like his 2012/2013 kids and his 2013/2014 kids. Gator has 17 ABGA points from very limited showing, 16 are from 2 of his kids. Gator left for Canada on 29 November 2014. We are "loving" his kids this year, watch for his daughter Bear Creek BC D826 born 18 Dec 2014 in the show ring.

Steam's Carbon Copy was a twin. He has been shown and has some points. Carbon Copy has 2 teats on each side and a good bite. We used him briefly as a young herdsire, then he went to a herd in PA 22 Aug 2013. I have always, completely, totally (G) "loved" his head. Of course the rest of him is not bad either.

New Frontier was a twin, he has a good bite; 1 big and 1 tiny teat on each side widely separated. He weighed 230 lbs. on 20 July 2019. His Dam 509 is a sister to 510, Argo's Dam.

We are using him as one of our herdsires, he was put with Doe's on 9 July 2019.

Harambe has been one of our herd sires since July 2016. He goes back to our Joshua line thru his Sire Joshua's Reflection. Just an interesting note when his Dam Bear Creek BC Z465 Cathie's Clown was just a kid I wrote on her record, "walks wide". She stood out and of course complemented Joshua's Reflection to their creation of Harambe. We continue to be impressed with his kids!!

He placed 8th at the 2017 ABGA National Show in Grand Island, NE He currently has 46 ABGA Ennoblement Points. You can see more pictures on the Show Goats Page.

UPDATE: 19 October 2020 ShowMe Genetic Services located in Strafford, MO collected Harambe. They said his semen was excellent!!!! We are offering a few straws of semen for $100.00 each. Don Smith had sold TLB 8055's Grandsire "Quarter Horse" on the dam's side, but he now has him back and is using him once again in his breeding program. Has anyone heard of SWE Main Event?? TLB M154 was Main Events Grandsire. TLB M154 is this Bucks Sire!!!

This is our newest herd sire, we would like to thank Calvin Taylor of Rolling Acres , Shelbyville, TX for breeding this great looking buck. We love his bone, breed character, body volume and this picture does not do him justice. He also has a great personality and we cannot wait until we see his kids. We will be putting him in with the girls in July, so Christmas is always exciting at our house. He came with 29 points and we will continue his show career, but his job comes first, so he may not be in great show shape when you see him at the shows.

Beautiful Buck, was shown at the North Missouri Boer Goat Show held in Chillicothie, MO on 19 and 20 May 2007. He placed 3rd on both days, Judges were David Carwell and Tracy Kiehl. He weighed 125 lbs. on 12 June 2007 for an average daily gain of .73 lbs. per day. Picture was taken 21 Aug 2007. UPDATE 5 Aug 07: Joshua placed first in the 6 - 9 month old Buck Class at the Ozark Empire Fair, Springfield, MO on 3 Aug 07. He then went on to be the Junior Reserve Champion Buck. Judge was Julie Brown from Florida. UPDATE 21 Aug 07: Joshua placed first at MO State Fair in Sedalia, Judge Chip Kemp, he also placed first at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, IA, Judge was Norman Kohl. Yogi and Joshua won best pair of bucks at the Iowa State Fair.

ONE MORE UPDATE 20 Oct 07:

On the 29^th of September Joshua won Junior Reserve Champion In Harrison, AR at the Northwest Arkansas District Fair, Judge was Barry Watts. He won First Place at the AR Meat Goat Association Show in Harrison, AR on the 30^th of September, Judge was Tom Dugas.

Joshua is still winning even after going into the 9 – 12 month old class and being one of the youngest in the class. The Judge was Doug Glosser, he won Reserve Grand Champion Buck. Then he and Dancing Bear won Best Pair of Bucks.

Joshua has accumulated 45 points towards ennoblement.
