Goat 101 Financials: Hey, just going to share some thoughts for you to consider: You could purchase a CD for $5000.00 and hope you get 6% interest. That should give you at least $300.00 for the year. OR If you purchased 4 Does for $5000.00. Kid them out, you should get 8 kids. Lots of scenarios, BUT, we will be cheap and just figure you get 4 kids and sell them cheap for near sale barn prices of $500.00 each. Thus $2000.00. Livestock is gambling, but, odds are usually in your favor.

Scarlett was a twin, she has had 14 kids. She had 2 Doe kids in Dec 2022, 1241 was sold for $1500.00. I am keeping 1240. Scarlett placed 9th at the 2015 ABGA National Show. Her teat seems to have scar tissue, i.e. somtime a kid chewed. BUT, she fed both does with no problem. She has been exposed to Bear Creek BC L1201 Argos Karma Reg # 10906350 from 10 July thru 27 August 2023.
UPDATE 27 Feb 2024: Scarlett did NOT kid this December 2023. She was exposed to Bear Creek BC M1220 Dream Chaser yesterday 26 Feb 2024. BUT, I do NOT think they were successful. All the little Bucks born in Dec 23 are chasing her, grrr. She would make a great companion for a Buck and maybe mother nature will surprise us with one more successful kidding and just possibly the best is yet to come.

You can see her Buck Bear Creek BC M1228 Apache that sold for $2500.00 on the Bucks For Sale Page. She weighed 187 lbs. on 5 June 2023. She has been exposed to Bear Creek BC M1220 Dream Chaser since 10 July 2023.
UPDATE: Ms Merkle had a single Buck Bear Creek BC N1284 on 10 December 2023. She is a wonderful Mom and is raising one of 1170's tripletts Bear Creek BC N1280. On 14 Feb 24, 1284 weighed 48 lbs. for a .62 ADG and her foster Buck 1280 weighed 47 lbs. for a .60 ADG.

996 was a twin, she has had 10 kids. She had twins Buck 1244 and Doe 1245 on 14 December 2022. The Buck 1244 sold for $2000.00 and 1245 is in my keeper herd. She has been exposed to Bear Creek BC L1993 Main Man Reg # 10906349 from 10 July to 27 August 2023.
UPDATE 28 February 2024: 996 had a Buck and a Doe on 14 December 2023. The Doe BC N1297 weighed 45 lbs. on 14 Feb 2024 for a .58 ADG and The Buck BC N1298 weighed 46 lbs. on 14 Feb 2024 for a .63 ADG. So, she not only produces great kids but also feeds them well!!!

.jpg) This is 1166's Buckling BC N1306 born 26 Dec 23. His sister is 1305. Bear Creek BC K1166 Amazin Grace was a triplett. Wow, I had forgot this, she weighed 4 lbs. and her brothers were 8 and 9 lbs. She weighed 180 lbs. on 5 June 2023. She has been on pasture since early June 23, so I am sure she has lost weight. She was bred to 203CB Whiskey Tango and delivered a Buck and Doe on 12 March 2022. We sold her Buck 1215 for $1500.00 and kept her Doe 1216. This year she had a single Buck kid 1269, she had udder problems, thus we bottle fed 1269 but, she was a good mom to him, talked to him; snuggled him etc. She is a very sweet Doe. Do NOT consider her if you would have a problem dealing with bottle kids. She has been exposed to Bear Creek BC M1220 Dream Chaser since 10 July 2023. Dream Chaser is a son of 203CB Whiskey Tango, thus excited to see what they produce.
4 January 2024 UPDATE: Amazin Grace kidded on 26 December 2023. She gave us a gorgeous Doe and Buck. YES, her udder will not allow her to feed them, thus we are feeding the Buck. Then another Doe that lost one of her kids at birth is feeding the Doe. We had her priced for $1250.00 but, she is NOW $350.00. Each one of her kids should sell for at least $1250.00 each.
28 February 2024 UPDATE: I just put a picture of her Buckling Bear Creek BC N1306 down below. He is being fed Land O' Lakes Does Match. It is never as good as Moms milk, but, he is at least gaining a 1/2 pound a day.

Teats are a fork on the left plus 1 tiny one wide separated; then one teat on the right with a tiny one wide separated. She weighed 75 lbs. on 19 July 2023 for a .48 average daily gain. She has a sweet disposition and led like a show doe, first time on the lead.
Her Dam 928 is a paint and we are also offering her for sale for $450.00. 928 was born 16 January 2016.

1292 was a single, she has a good bite and a fork teat I believe is 50% split plus a teeny one on each side. Just a sneak peek picture, more to come SOON. I do NOT believe you need 200 plus lb does to raise kids, BUT, if you like them I believe 1292 has a good chance of being a big frame doe. Her Grandam Cheetah was one of our show does and weighed over 200 lbs. and 1292's Dam 1116 weighed 221 lbs. on 31 January 2024. 1292 was one of 4 Does that we took to Richland, MO on 1 March 2024 for the FFA Judging Team and from my understanding 1292 was #1 and 1277 was #2.
1292 weighed 51 lbs. on 14 February 2024 giving her a .61 average daily gain.
